Review & Swatches : Orly Nail Varnish

I was lucky enough to receive three beautiful Orly polishes for review. I chose Rock Candy, Green with Envy and Meringue.

I love the packaging of these polishes, the handle is thin, narrow and rubber which allows precise application and prevents the brush slipping out of my hands (I'm clumsy, it happens often).

The brush is also a nice long slim one which again helps with precise application.

Green with Envy is a beautiful colour which is opaque after just two coats, I personally prefer the finish with three coats but would be happy to apply two coats when rushing. (all the time then).

Rock Candy is a gorgeous pearlescent polish which shimmers different colours in different lights. This looks great on its own, in certain lights it doesn't look as if you're wearing any polish, then in other lights you catch all the colours shimmering. I also think this would look great worn over a white polish.

Meringue is similar to Rock Candy in that it too has a lovely pearlescent finish. This one is however opaque after three coats and is more of a gold colour.

You can buy these nail varnishes here, the prices range from £8.95 to £9.95.

*Disclaimer : These nail polishes were Kindly sent to me for review purposes. Despite this all opinions are 100% honest and my own.*

Week in Photos #60

This week has been very Wedding orientated. We've ticked loads off the list. I've bought the Bridesmaids & flower girl dresses, which thankfully everyone loved, or at least that is what they told me! I've worked on our website. I'm considering adding our proposal story to the site as we got engaged on a rollercoaster so it may be worth adding, what do you guys think? We also bought a few bits from eBay and bought our Wedding rings! We met the florist and the cake maker. I'm super excited now that we have so many plans in place!

We even have a vintage suitcase which I have great plans for :)

I tried getting creative with my food presentation the other day, but it looks a bit rubbish ha! Mash potato with steak and a portabello mushroom with cheese.

My manager bought me a Yankee Candle and this lovely lamp for my birthday, so pretty.

As I mentioned above we've had Wedding related appointments this week straight from work. As a result of this we've been starving! We called into McDonalds after work and realised they hadn't given us one burger, Spencer went back in to get his burger, as we had to park up any way we decided just to eat it in the car, we couldn't wait!

I bought this lovely Sushi platter from Tesco for my lunch one day, I've only ever seen the smaller ones in supermarkets so got quite excited by this bad boy!

I woke up to this this morning! Purring in my face trying to wake me up bless her.

We went to Cardiff today which involved a lovely lunch in Ruby Tuesday. The first time I've ever been in there and I was quite impressed, the salad cart makes Harvester look a little lame!

I also bought new walking boots today which I'm currently wearing with my PJs, although I think the whole idea of 'wearing them in' should involve more than just sitting at the sofa on my laptop!

Have you been up to much this week? What do you think of Wedding websites?

Week in Post #31

I haven't done one of these posts for a while so this is a couple of weeks worth of post, I'm not lucky enough to receive all of this in just one week!

My final ever Carmine box :( They have joined forces with GlossyBox but kindly allowed us to convert our points for a box containing items from previous boxes. I'll post about it in more detail soon.

April JolieBox, you can view my post on this here.

My gorgeous item from Obsessed Jewellery :) I posted about that here.

Giveaway prizes from Sugar & Spice - thank you so much!

 Nail varnishes to review.

My new Vax hoover! Random I know. This carpet clearer came up on Groupon and I couldn't resist it.

A beautiful event invitation, unfortunately I don't think that I'll be able to attend, but still, it was lovely to receive an invite in the post.

Gorgeous goodies to review from L'Occitane.

Pretty new skirt. Annoyingly its one size fits all, and it doesn't fit me :( Well it does fit, but its a little tighter than I'd like. Not sure what to do with this to be honest as it came from China so will probably cost me more to return than what it actually cost! May put it on eBay.

What goodies have you received in the post lately?

Obsessed Jewellery

A little while ago the lovely Rachel contacted me to let me know that she was setting up a new jewellery shop and asking if I'd like an item to review. I, of course, jumped at the chance! Rachel's new shop is called Obsessed Jewellery and sells a great mixture of affordable jewellery.

Pretty packaging :)

I had no idea what piece of jewellery to expect and was thrilled to see that Rachel had picked the gorgeous hot air balloon necklace for me.

I love the colour of this necklace and the little bow detail - so cute!

I am now lusting after several other items from Obsessed Jewellery, particularly the Music Lovers Necklace, £6.50.

Have you got your eye on any goodies from Obsessed Jewellery?

Festival Survival Kit

Hi guys, something a little random and different from me today!

Spencer (the Mr) is going to the Rewind Festival for his stag do in August. He has never been to a festival before and doesn't really know what to expect. I decided to be kind and put together a little 'survival kit' for him. I wasn't planning on giving it him just yet, but he started looking into buying this type of stuff himself!

The whole kit cost me £8.48 including any P&P and he really appreciates it.

The kit contains (links where possible) :

10 disposable toilet seat covers
Waterproof PVC Poncho (this can also double up as a ground sheet for the tent)
Strip of ibuprofen (take before going to bed with a pint of water to prevent hangovers)
Ear plugs
Chewable Toothbrushes
Anti-Bacterial Wipes from Primark

Is there anything that I've missed from this kit?

Birthday Gifts & Haul

Hi guys :) I hope that people don't think I'm showing off by doing this post, because believe me, I'm not. I just wanted to share with you my birthday gifts and a few of the things that I bought with my vouchers. You may recognise a few items from my birthday wishlist.

How cute is this sewing machine? I had this on my wishlist and yay, the hint was picked up on! I now need to think of something to sew to test it out. I'm considering sanding down my old wooden chair in my bedroom and painting it white, I may use this machine to make a nice cushion to go on it. When I get my butt into gear.

These smell amazing! I am once again slacking on the bath front and taking to lazy showers, these may tempt me to get back in the tub!

Spencer's mam read this book from the library a while ago, she recommended it to me back then and I promptly forgot. She saw it in a shop and thought it would be a nice extra gift for me, I can't wait to have a read of it.

Hello chocolate pamper times :)

Gorgeous PJs and plaque from Boux Avenue, how amazing is the gift wrapping? These are a little long for me so I may trial my sewing machine on them!

I bought this for myself whilst shopping in Cardiff for my birthday. Again, its from Boux Avenue. I got measured there and couldn't resist this after trying it on.

We bought my replacement Engagement ring as my original broke, this wasn't a birthday present but it was bought on my birthday hence being included here.

This is for my thumb, unfortunately its a little too big so I will have to exchange it. Hopefully they'll have it in in my size.

Amazing Union Jack scarf from Primark

Casual tee from Primark.

Primark lace blouse.

New Look midi skirt.

A Yankee Candle lamp thing, I also received a Yankee Candle in midnight jasmine with this but forgot to photograph that.
